Op vrijdag 29 mei staat De Meester in het teken van drie lokale Almeerse acts die samen de zomer inluiden. Met De Softies, Alma Landa en Marjorana Sambossa op het podium ontstaat een avond waarin verschillende verhalen en stijlen samenkomen.
De Softies vonden elkaar in een Almere waar in de jaren 80 en 90 nog weinig te beleven was. Muziek en humor brachten hen samen en vormden de basis voor een band die niet alleen zichzelf, maar ook hun stad kleur gaf. Met een mix van scherpe teksten, zelfspot, melancholie en aanstekelijke ritmes bewegen ze moeiteloos tussen nederpop, rauwe rockriffs en een vleugje hiphop. Hun nummers slingeren je van een glimlach naar een slikmoment en weer terug, en raken precies die plek waar lachen en emotie samenkomen. Niet voor niets behoren ze al sinds het begin van dit millennium tot de best bewaarde geheimen van Oerol.
Alma Landa, het folktronica-duo van Gitta de Ridder en Lars Posthumus, brengt een gelaagde en persoonlijke sound waarin akoestische folk en elektronische texturen samenkomen. Met eerlijke zang, nylonsnarige gitaar, diepe baslijnen en dromerige synths bouwen ze aan een geluid dat vrij beweegt tussen folk, pop en jazz. In hun muziek ontstaat een voortdurende dialoog tussen organische verhalen en avontuurlijke klankwerelden, waarbij de stem en liedjes centraal staan en de productie subtiel de diepte opzoekt. Na hun debuutsingle Thunderbrain verscheen onlangs hun eerste EP.
Samen met Marjorana Sambossa vormt deze line-up een avond die voelt als een warme opmaat naar de zomer, gedragen door artiesten uit dezelfde stad die elk hun eigen verhaal en geluid meebrengen.

De Softies found each other in an Almere where there was little to do in the 80s and 90s. Music and humor brought them together and formed the basis for a band that added color, not only to themselves, but also to their city. With a mix of sharp lyrics, self-deprecation, melancholy, and infectious rhythms, they move effortlessly between Dutch pop, raw rock riffs, and a touch of hip-hop. Their songs swing you from a smile to a tearful moment and back again, hitting exactly the spot where laughter and emotion meet. It is no coincidence that they have been one of Oerol’s best-kept secrets since the beginning of this millennium.
Alma Landa, the folktronica duo of Gitta de Ridder and Lars Posthumus, delivers a layered and personal sound in which acoustic folk and electronic textures come together. With honest vocals, nylon-string guitar, deep bass lines, and dreamy synths, they build a sound that moves freely between folk, pop, and jazz. A continuous dialogue emerges in their music between organic stories and adventurous soundscapes, where the voice and songs take center stage and the production subtly explores the depths. Following their debut single Thunderbrain, their first EP was recently released.
